ON WALL AND REVEAL FIT

The following information describes the differences between measuring On Wall and Reveal Fit.
On Wall (OW)
Reveal Fit (RF)

On Wall is generally the best way to install roller shutters, as this offers the greatest flexibility and allows you to optimise the placement of the roller shutter.

With an On Wall installation you do not have to know the width of the guides or size of the pelmet. Your order can accommodate 'Fit Type' and our systems will undertake the appropriate deductions for accurate sizing.

When looking at the height, it may be best to place the pelmet directly under the eaves and eliminate a potential 1 or 2 brick gap above the pelmet.

Please note: The overall height of the roller shutter is to the top of the pelmet, so if the pelmet is above the window or door use the table below to calculate the overall height of the roller shutter.

Reveal Fit width is determined by the window width at its smallest point (e.g. the top of the window may measure 1800 mm but the bottom may measure 1803 mm and the middle measure 1805 mm - your measurement should then be 1800 mm for overall width)

Please note: Reveal Fit allows for zero margin for error in measurements and you need to deduct a clearance for the width of 6 mm. So, if you measure 1800 mm as your tightest measurement, deduct 6 mm off of this for clearance and order your roller shutter as 1794 mm wide.

The table below shows the relationship between a roller shutters' size and how far the pelmet protrudes from the window.

The height and width of the pelmet is the same (i.e a 165 mm pelmet is 165 mm high x 165 mm wide)
